Honoring a Century of Farming Excellence with State-of-the-Art Climate Control Technology
At GrainProteinTech Climate Control & Air Treatment, we believe the best solutions are built through strong partnerships. That philosophy came to life during a recent visit to Burns Farms in Millington, Michigan, where tradition, innovation, and industry expertise have come together to create one of the region’s most advanced poultry pullet facilities.

Founded in 1921, Burns Farms has been family owned and operated for five generations. Today, Gus Burns, Nathan Burns, Ron Burns, and the next generation of the Burns family continue that legacy by investing in technologies that support bird health, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability. Their newest facility represents that commitment, a state-of-the-art hybrid cross-ventilated, tunnel-ventilated pullet finisher designed to provide an optimal environment for growing replacement pullets destined for Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch, one of the nation’s leading egg producers.
Built on Experience. Designed for Performance.
Every successful ventilation system starts with collaboration. This project brought together the expertise of Jeff Lorenz, Ventilation Expert with GrainProteinTech Climate Control & Air Treatment, the building experience of ABS Ag Building Systems, and the vision of the Burns Farms ownership team.
Together, they designed a ventilation system focused on maximizing airflow, maintaining consistent temperatures, improving bird comfort, and supporting long-term production efficiency.
During our visit, we asked Luke Burns what he thought about the ventilation system and the Aerotech equipment that has been installed over the years. His response was simple—but powerful:
“Aerotech fans last forever.”
For us, there is no greater compliment. Those four words speak to more than product longevity. They reflect decades of trust built between our team and producers who depend on reliable ventilation systems every day. When equipment performs year after year in demanding agricultural environments, it becomes more than a product, it becomes a trusted part of the operation.
Designed as a hybrid cross-ventilated and tunnel-ventilated pullet finisher, every component works together to create a consistent environment that promotes healthy bird development, superior air quality, and efficient operation throughout every season.

Honoring Legacy While Building the Future
For more than 100 years, Burns Farms has demonstrated what it means to continuously invest in the future while honoring the values that built the operation. From five generations of family ownership to adopting advanced ventilation technologies, their commitment to excellence is evident throughout the entire facility.
At GrainProteinTech Climate Control & Air Treatment, we are honored to have partnered with Burns Farms, ABS Ag Building Systems, and our own ventilation expert Jeff Lorenz on this exceptional project.
Congratulations to the Burns family on another milestone in a farming legacy that began in 1921. We look forward to supporting your operation and the generations to come, for many years ahead.
Because when a customer looks at decades of performance and says, “Aerotech fans last forever,” that’s the kind of trust we strive to earn every day.
