Air treatment systems tailored for pig production

We provide solutions for filtering, neutralizing, and controlling pollutants in the air inside and outside pig barns:

  • AirProTec® fresh air filtration unit is a stand-alone filtration with integrated cooling designed to efficiently filter away airborne pathogens such as PRRS, Mycoplasma, and foot and mouth. First stage filtration and second stage cooling, enables injection of clean, cool air into the house.
  • LAVAMATIC air scrubber is a stand-alone scrubbing unit that efficiently scrubs ammonia from the exhaust air, capturing ammonia which is fed to the slurry tank and used as fertilizer on the field. Equipped with the Bio-stage module, the unit reduce odour emission to the surrounding environment. item

LAVAMATIC – reduces footprint of the production

The LAVAMATIC is a high-efficiency air scrubber that captures ammonia from the exhaust air. When equipped with the Bio-stage module, the odour emission is reduced below the threshold required in many countries.
The system consists of a unique drum washing module, characterized by best-in-class energy and scrubbing efficiency. LAVAMATIC air scrubbing unit is 2 sizes: 55.000 or 110.000 m3/h to match various requirements.

Highlights:

  • Complies with strict EU environmental requirements
  • Best-in-class energy and scrubbing efficiency.
  • Available in 2 sizes (55.000 m3/h or 110.000 m3/h).
  • Plug & Play – requiring minimum installation on site.

AirProTec® – enhancing biosecurity

AirProTec® is a positive pressure, fresh air filtration and cooling unit. Particularly suited for retrofitting on existing houses, it converts the house ventilation from negative to positive pressure to ensure supply of clean fresh air without jeopardizing the filtration efficiency by having non-filtered fresh air entering the house through crevices or doors/windows left open. A slight positive pressure in the house means that the house air is pushed out from the building, rather than being sucked in through crevices, openings or doors/windows left open by mistake. The unit provides an efficient enhancement of the defence against airborne pathogens.
Highlights:

  • Filters >95% of 0,4 µm particles in the surrounding fresh air.
  • Effective against PRRS, Mycoplasma, Streptococcus, Swine flu, Aujeszkys, and foot and mouth decease.
  • Injects filtered clean and precooled air into the house where required.
  • Air filter monitoring system alerts staff of operational irregularities.

FAQ

Choosing the right air treatment system can make a significant difference in the health and efficiency of your pig operation. Here we answer some of the most frequently asked questions about ammonia control and biosecurity.

Why is ammonia control so important in pig houses?

High levels of ammonia can cause respiratory issues, reduce growth, and increase medication costs. Long-term exposure harms pigs and workers. Air scrubbers and good ventilation help keep levels within safe limits.

What’s the difference between air treatment and ventilation?

Ventilation exchanges stale air with fresh air, while air treatment filters or cleans that air to remove pollutants, pathogens, and odors. The two systems work together to create a healthy barn environment.

Does AirProTec work with existing ventilation systems?

Yes, AirProTec can be integrated with existing ventilation setups. It works as an add-on for positive pressure zones or as a primary filtered air supply for biosecure areas.

When should I consider installing an air scrubber?

If your farm struggles with strong odors, high ammonia emissions, or is located near residential zones or under emission regulations, an air scrubber like Lavamatic is a smart investment.
